Who's mitten is that amongst
the Hen and Chickens? It
was so little you'd have
thought it belonged to a doll.

Bratislava is a city of
statues among other
things. But they also have
a sense of humor!
We came upon this guy
peering around the corner:
was he a spy and if so
on what
was he spying?

Ah! He's a
photographer,
just like us!
So what is
he
photographing?

This was a very moving memorial sculpture. The shoes, although they look like they are leather are actually metal. During the time Hitler's Nazi's were persecuting the Jews, in Budapest they were rounded up, made to strip here at this wall, step out of their shoes and then were shot in the back so they fell into the river below. The shoes stand as
a powerful, dramatic, silent testimony to that event.

First view of Budapest from
the ship. Looking from the
Pest side to the Buda side.
Our guide from the airport
told us "there are no pests
in Budapest pronounced:
Budapeshd" But alas there
are many gypsies poised to
steal from the unsuspecting
tourist!
