Day 40 March 31, 2010

For a day that was supposed to be wet and stormy it certainly had a fabulous beginning. The light was wonderful and changed by the second. It was a day to be quick. Then came the trauma of choosing just one photograph to post here. Down on the Thea Foss Waterway there is a plethora of beauty to photograph from moss on concrete steps to dilapidated but still used buildings contrasting to newer glass and steel of downtown. The water reflections were clear, the flowers were mere reservoirs for last night's rains and the sky was an organized confusion of variegated blues overlay-ed with whites ranging to angry deep grays. This photograph won out because of its symphony of blue hues.

Day 39 March 30, 2010

This was a gloomy, stormy day again. With a break in the weather the intent was to go to Pt Defiance Park. The drive was interrupted by this little store with, as luck would have it, people going in. The bright, Easter Egg colors seemed to be just the thing for a day like this!

Day 38 March 29, 2010

Rain today so it washed out the scheduled bike ride for me. However, there was a break in the weather so I hunted up Swan Creek where this ride was to take place. Finally stumbled on it. It was very damp and muddy but the tiny little part of the 40 acres I saw looked worth a trip back in dryer days. I seem to be on a flower theme here but it is spring.

Day 37 March 28, 2010

While out walking with the pocket camera, caught this mossy rock in the evening light. It reminds me of those views from satellites in space.

Day 36 March 27, 2010

This is advertised to be the best day of the weekend and it was perfect for pictures! This is what is left of a daffodil field outside Puyallup at the Van Leirop Bulb Farm. I noticed a for sale sign so I wonder what it will become.
Kurt was really enjoying himself but at this point he really wanted a good cup of coffee!

Day 35 March 26, 2010

Walking around the neighborhood I found too many choices for today. I chose this one because the blossoms were so delicate and perched so precariously I knew immediately they will only be with us for a few days. With the wet, windy weather we're having they could be gone before tomorrow.

Day 34 March 25, 2010

This wisteria is getting ready for its first bloom and the vine is loaded with buds. It is a tease, really. The buds will get bigger and bigger and it will seem they can't get any bigger. Then suddenly they will burst forth with white blossoms edged with a glorious lavender-blue and filling the air with its intoxicating scent. I can hardly wait!
