Day 67 April 27, 2010

Having been told rhododendrons are difficult to photograph, it became a challenge. Red has been really hard to capture. There are nearly always a number of blossoms crushing together. This one seems to have the right combination of isolation with strongly contrasting colors and textures.

The rain and hail all day left behind lovely crystal drops on the flowers. The gentle evening light crowded with sky of clouds ranging from pure white to angry black/blue/gray, accompanied by a rainbow and blue sky. The sun was low creating a soft glow in the shade and bright reflections in its direct path. Fabulous!
